Greene County Public Schools…

Schools in Snow Hill are administered by the Greene County Public School system. The five schools include Greene Central High School, Greene Early College High School, Greene County Middle School, Snow Hill Primary School and West Greene Elementary School.


Lenoir Community College…

Lenoir Community College is a comprehensive, open-door institution offering quality educational programs and services that provide opportunities for the intellectual, economic, social, and cultural development of its students and the community. Currently, LCC has approximately 3,091 students, the majority of which are from its surrounding counties.


East Carolina University…

Founded in 1907 as a teacher training school, the first location considered for the school was New Bern, NC. Greenville was ultimately chosen because it provided a “safer haven” than a port town for the female students.

The official school colors of ECU are Purple and Gold…any other colors associated with ECU are unofficial.Pirates were adopted as the school’s official mascot on February 26, 1934. East Carolina College was granted university status in 1967.

ECU is currently the fastest growing university among the sixteen campuses within the University of North Carolina System and the third largest with an enrollment of nearly 30,000 students.
